The American Society of Interior Designers’ Kitchen & Bath Tour on October 25th will showcase remodeled kitchens including two distinct designs by JDR: a Natural Modern kitchen and a Rustic Zen kitchen.

Kitchen One:
Natural Modern
For a well-travelled couple with an appreciation of European aesthetics, it was important that their kitchen express a refined point of view. They wanted to dramatically open up their kitchen and living areas and connect the space with their home’s lovely natural environment. New windows and glass doors now fill the space with light and circulation, grounded by a balance of refined and natural textures. The interplay of textures with the clean lines of the open floor plan creates an engaging design for family life and entertaining in this Natural Modern kitchen.

Kitchen Two:
Rustic Zen
A compelling composition of Asian and contemporary themes gives this Rustic Zen kitchen its memorable style. The clients wanted to express their affinity for Asian-style design in an artistic environment and take advantage of their home’s amazing canyon views. The high gloss sheen of black granite countertops is balanced by rustic notes of stacked natural stone, cherry wood and mahogany for an overall impression of subtle glamour with an Asian influence. The thoughtful blend of elements creates an elegant, welcoming atmosphere rich with sophistication.
