This new build ADU is a detached structure built for a married couple with two young children as a rental property. They wanted to avoid a “builder grade” approach, carefully selecting materials and finishes for a more custom look. A blue island in the kitchen illuminated by striking lighting is a notable focal point. In the bathroom, a walk-in shower gets a visual boost from a chic niche with octagon tile, echoed on the backsplash of the sink.
