Reflection
This guest house is in the backyard of a modern farmhouse just a short walk from the beach. Encompassed in their whole home remodel project, the clients wanted their guest house, remodeled from an existing structure, to reflect the same design aesthetic. Many of the same elements and finishes are integrated in the guest home, including a Dutch front door and wooden beams. This ADU is attached to the main home but feels like a private space with its own entrance. When it’s not in use as a guest house for visiting family, the husband uses the space as a home office and a retreat to relax and play guitar.
