PROJECT SUMMARY

Our clients plan to enjoy their retirement years in this La Jolla Shores home, originally a cute but small bungalow in a very desirable neighborhood just a few blocks from the beach. The homeowners are people who love contemporary design and it was important to them to truly love their space. They had a dream floor plan in mind and wanted to live in beautiful, inspiring surroundings. The new home was built on one level encompassing a central living space and an outdoor area with a private Zen garden. Each material was carefully selected during the remodel, with the clients’ attentive participation. The exterior is a high grade cedar siding with zinc (which will weather nicely next to the ocean) covering the entry for privacy. Inside, an expansive open area encompasses an entryway with custom niches to display art and collectibles, a living and dining area, and a dynamic kitchen. The whole home remodel also included two master bedroom suites and guest quarters. Once a humble bungalow, this home is now a stunning realization of California Contemporary design.
