PROJECT SUMMARY
A daring combination of yellow and blue and a design awash in natural light make this master bathroom a visual delight. The sleek free-standing tub and an open shower with tiles in a mid-century pattern further a sense of luxury. Existing beams in the ceiling were integrated into the new design to add visual interest with architectural elements in the space. The area was designed as one open room with Shoji-style sliding doors that work for privacy while retaining light. The light in the room is accentuated by a wall of windows and the bright lemon yellow of the oversized wall tiles. The tiles alternate between a glossy and matte finish, creating an intriguing sensation of depth. A periwinkle blue vanity is an imaginative contrasting color, illuminated by sparkling pendants of textured hand blown glass. A walk-in closet and storage hidden behind the vanity mirrors is complemented by more storage in the drawers of the vanity, keeping the room clutter-free. The wood flooring in the sink area transitions to a sloped floor to accommodate the open shower, where the textured wall and a series of niches delight the eye while providing practical functionality in this sumptuous oasis alive with color.
