PROJECT SUMMARY
The couple who live in this 1930’s home respected its original architecture but were tired of a space that felt old and dated. They wanted to cook and entertain with ease and they wanted their home’s design to reflect their green and mountainous natural surroundings.
After thoughtful architectural planning, structural changes dramatically opened the space encompassing the kitchen, dining and living areas into one unified expanse while retaining the integrity of the home’s existing design. The kitchen is now a stunning expression of organic modernity. The island is a strong focal point with horizontal porcelain tile in subtle gray and a gleaming white countertop. The bold hood makes a statement with a clear definition of the space. The thoughtful layout encompasses generous storage and seating while retaining a sense of organic simplicity. Abundant natural light accentuates the clean, open lines of the design. The couple now feels as if they are living in a brand new home without ever having to move. They enjoy welcoming friends for large gatherings in their stylishly original space.
